A simple, yet powerful message gave inspiration to many at the USMS Spring Nationals in Greensboro, North Carolina this weekend.
Having recently passed an anti-transgender bathroom law, many IGLA team swimmers and allies questioned even attending nationals if it meant supporting business in North Carolina. This simple banner, without any branding, made the message clear. We swim for love, not hate. There’s such power in this unifying message.
T-shirts featuring the message were handed out. Tolerance bracelets were also handed out.
Splasher Andrew P competed in Greensboro. On the topic, he said, “The message was a rallying point and the spirit of inclusion was the theme of the day. Kudos to those brilliant folks who brought this inspirational message to Spring Nationals.”
