USMS To Host Coaching Certification
Have you ever considered sharing your love of swimming with your teammates by taking a turn on-deck? Ever wondered how to structure a workout? United States Masters Swimming (USMS) is hosting its Levels 1 and 2 Coach Certification Course in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday, May 22, 2016. Splash currently has two Level 2 Certified Coaches, and we are always seeking additional coaching volunteers. Coaching at Splash is voluntary and unpaid. It is a ton of work, but it is incredible rewarding to be a part of your teammates succeeding. Consider joining the ranks of our dedicated coaches and sign up! FEES
$180 – Financial assistance on a needs-basis is available from Ohio Splash upon completion of course with coaching commitment. We have inquired with the Ohio Local Masters Swimming Committee (LMSC) to see if further scholarships are available.

PREREQUISITES
You must be a current USMS Member to participate in the course and receive USMS certification.

Instructors for the course are:
- Dominic Latella has a decade of experience training Masters swimmers around the world. He is a USMS Adult Learn to Swim certified lead instructor and an instructor for the U.S. Masters Swimming Masters coach certification classes. He has been appointed twice — the max amount — as a coach for USMS High Performance Camp. He also works with wounded servicemen and women, providing swimming rehabilitation and adaptive swimming instruction at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He is an adjunct professor of Health and Fitness at American University and is the owner of SwimBox, a swimming-lesson company that utilizes the technology of an Endless Pool to give swimmers of all levels an advantage in learning proper swimming technique.
- Mel Goldstein was the 2001 Speedo US Masters Coach of the year, Mel won the 1997 Ransom J. Arthur MD Award that goes annually to a person who best supports the objectives of Masters swimming. It is the highest honor bestowed by United States Masters Swimming. He is a past President of USMS and a USMS All American with 255 Individual Top Ten Achievements. In 2012, he was inducted into the International Masters Swimming Hall of Fame.
Cancellation Policy
Course registrations are nonrefundable and nontransferable to another individual. However, you may transfer your registration to a course at an alternate date and location.
